Repat Teacher and the Quixotic Campaign for Bill Richardson

Repat Teacher,

Back in October or November I suggested that you were quixotic in your campaign to get Bill Richardson elected President. You have soldiered throughout 2007, gamely presenting the case for Richardson and fending of criticisms.

However, we're nearing, possibly already at, that point where reality is surely intruding upon your consciousness: Bill Richardson cannot win the Presidency. Richardson cannot even entice Democrats to nominate him to be President.

I've marveled at the skill with which you've carried on this campaign, your quick command of relevant data, and your tenacity in the face of daunting odds. It's remarkable what someone with your energy and skill will do in service of a cause.

If, in the future, you support a candidate whose ideas resonate with what most US citizens actually want in a President, you'll be formidable.

Until then, shine on you crazy diamond.

Condolences

GL, well said.

Expat,
It appears Richardson is withdrawing, I can do no better than to echo GL’s comments.
If you bring that kind of passion to the classroom, I can only hope that my children will be fortunate enough to have teachers like you.

Breakin' up is hard to do

Thanks guys. I'm pretty numb right now, but I do appreciate your comments.

One sidenote: My enjoyment of the political process combined with an increasingly decline in interest in teaching means that this will be the last year I am in the classroom. I guess that makes me in the market for a new nom-de-blog. Thoughts?

Numb

Your devotion to the Richardson campaign has been very inspiring. I am very confident that without your tremendous effort on Richardson's behalf I would be like so many Democrats in this country... I wouldn't know much of anything about Richardson. But, quite frankly, if it weren't for my ultimate concern that the Republicans be kept from the White House in 09, I would have voted for Bill Richardson no matter what - and mostly because you have done such an excellent job of making his positions clear - and, for me, he clearly has the best positions on the most important issues. Expat: Thanks for your passion, loyalty, and advocacy. You da man!

how about "expat exteacher"?

Or is that just too many ex's?

I must echo the other contributors comments. I was seriously considering BR simply because of the good case you made here on the blog. Unfortunately, I live in TN, not Iowa or New Hampshire. Should someone tap him for VP, it would make me more interested in that person's candidacy.

Good luck w/new vocation.
