NR on Richardson

At the risk of re-igniting Expat's passions on the subject, I'll point out that National Review has an interesting analysis today of Richardson's campaign to date.
As a side note, maybe Expat will respect NR a bit more now that he's been called a "tuned-in Democratic activist" in its (e-)pages (see penultimate graf). Ha!

A write up by NRO is good for Richardson
Ok, so I'll be the first to admit that the Richardson write-up isn't very flattering. In fact, it's pretty much an all-warts view.
However, if the conservative NRO is writing about Richardson, it must mean that someone there thinks he and his campaign are worth the space and time.
Gaffes and misspeaks are part of the game. Sure, he hasn't looked the greatest in some of the debates/forums, but it is so early that it won't effect his final vote tally. What it has done has given him plenty of practice at both prepping for debates and dealing with the blow back.
And I'd argue that being overly articulate isn't much of an asset on the campaign trail. It didn't work for Kerry, Gore, Bush Sr., Mondale, etc. No one likes a 'know-it-all' and everyone can appreciate the humanness of putting your foot in your mouth.
