Is Edwards a Hypocrite for Attacking Obama's Senate Record
On January 21, 2008 the Democrat candidates for President debated in South Carolina. John Edwards attacked Senator Barak Obama for voting "present" 100 times.

As I watched Edwards attack on Obama, I remembered Cheney nailing Edwards for his poor Senate record. Also, while Cheney mis-remembered that the debate in 2004 was not actually the first time Cheney had met Edwards, the rest of the statement about Edwards' dismal Senate record was accurate. Edwards was unable to exculpate himself from anything other than the fact that he had met Cheney before that night.
2004 Vice-Presidential Debate excerpt:
Cheney: And Senator, frankly, you have a record in the Senate that's not very distinguished. You've missed 33 out of 36 meetings in the Judiciary Committee, almost 70 percent of the meetings of the Intelligence Committee.
You've missed a lot of key votes: on tax policy, on energy, on Medicare reform.
Your hometown newspaper has taken to calling you "Senator Gone." You've got one of the worst attendance records in the United States Senate.
Now, in my capacity as vice president, I am the president of Senate, the presiding officer. I'm up in the Senate most Tuesdays when they're in session.
The first time I ever met you was when you walked on the stage tonight.

Why elaborate?
You could end your title with "Is Edwards a Hypocrite?" and let people launch from there. Of course, for the commenter, the temptation is to just say, "Yes," presuming all the rest was understood and known to anyone who has followed the Edwards career. I should not have thought there was much room for debate on this topic. Open with the oxymoronic identity, "Wealthy populist" based on the absurd "caring personal injury lawyer" and then keep your eyes and ears open. A hypocrite? One of the best.
