I wanted Socialist and Christian Democrat.

I was not sure, either. I said "Classical Liberal" but worry that the poll's designer might not see that as I do. I am not really a Libertarian, and usually say "Conservative" but have found lately that what I mean by that and what others mean are not the thing. I used to say "Social Conservative", but do not like the company I must keep if I say that these days. It is funny to feel besmirched in that crowd. However, my Christianity informs my political choices. Oh well.

How about Christian Libertarian? I know quite a few.

"Neo-liberal" and "Christian Democrat" are terms I associate with British and/or European politics--just wondering if that's what you meant?

I had no difficulty selecting "conservative," myself, although it seems everyone to the left and right of me calls those like me "neoconservative." There's nothing "neo" or new about my identification as a conservative! :)

Classical Liberal has a wonderfully open connotation which is derived from the period known as "Enlightenment." This is not to be confused with the present time which is known as the time of "Confusion" or the time in which Alfred E Newman was President of America.

I still love his first campaign slogan "What? Me worry?"
