Why?

Will, why do you allow anonymous comments? It seems that the spam issue would mostly take care of itself if you required registration. Besides, it is nice being able to connect past comments to current ones when a certain person weighs in on a subject. I guess I just don't get the desire for complete anonymity, from the perspective of the writer or from your end. Is a made-up screen name not anonymous for some people?
