Be nice to me in the comments...

AP is reporting that Governor Richardson is withdrawing from the presidential primary race. I haven't got any official confirmation from the campaign, but I am not surprised. The money has probably dried up and with Obama getting two vital endorsements in Nevada today, the road is just too difficult to go forth.

I took today off for a "mental health" sick day because I knew this was coming. I haven't had too much time to think about this, but I know that I had a hell of a time and I'd do it all again. In fact, if Gov. Richardson needed me tomorrow, I'd be there.

Repat Teacher and the Quixotic Campaign for Bill Richardson

Repat Teacher,

Back in October or November I suggested that you were quixotic in your campaign to get Bill Richardson elected President. You have soldiered throughout 2007, gamely presenting the case for Richardson and fending of criticisms.

However, we're nearing, possibly already at, that point where reality is surely intruding upon your consciousness: Bill Richardson cannot win the Presidency. Richardson cannot even entice Democrats to nominate him to be President.

I've marveled at the skill with which you've carried on this campaign, your quick command of relevant data, and your tenacity in the face of daunting odds. It's remarkable what someone with your energy and skill will do in service of a cause.

"Ronulans": Now that is funny

Looks like there are several nice blog posts out there covering this, but Captain's Quarters has a nice pair of posts. The most recent of which is this one.

It never ceases to amaze me how gullible voters can be. You spew a few buzz words associated with a particular ideology or policy position (free markets, free trade, balanced budget) and far too many people stand at attention. Sad, really...think of how much of your time and energy Ron Paul has wasted. Think of the resources he has acquired and used over the last three decades--that can't possibly have been an efficient allocation, can it? It looks increasingly like he is not the kind of guy who is unafraid to tell us the TRUTH. He did give us clues though. As discussed in Will's last post about Paul, anyone making statements like: "The CFR exists," is not speaking the plain truth.
