Dick Armey Addresses the Religious Right

Today former US House Majority Leader Dick Armey pens this rebuke of the Religious Right. As a conservative evangelical Christian, I agree wholeheartedly with Armey.

What Does It Mean to Be a Conservative?
Jane Galt at Asymetrical Information wrote a very nice rebuttal of Geoffrey Stone's op-ed in the Chicago Tribune about what it means to be a liberal. Money quote:

Such lists are either a good-faith attempt to draw a broad tent that everyone agrees with . . . in which case they generally fail because they degenerate into useless platitudes that no one could possibly disagree with, and therefore do nothing at all to set you apart from your opponents. . . or they are a tendentious attempt to claim the moral high ground for your side through semantic chicanery.

Sonny's Land
Clayton Wagar over at PeachPundit does a fantastic job of highlighting the facts of a brewing controversy surrounding Georgia Governor Sonny Purdue. It is amazing how much discussion of this land deal occurred without anyone knowing the details. Kudos to Clayton for sticking to the facts.

Amish faith shines, even in tragic darkness
This post is technically from last week but I had to mention it. Rod Dreher wrote a fantastic piece last Friday about the shooting at the Amish school in Pennsylvania and the amazing way that the Amish have responded to this terrible tragedy.
